How can
I compare KavaZen®
with other sources of Kava? Kava in KavaZen® is highly selected and mixed according to exacting standards. Moreover, Kava in Kavazen is 'pre-digested', and therefore able to enter circulation immediately. With such oral absorption, Kava does not have to "first pass through the liver". For this reason, oral absorption, when compared with digestive absorption, allows a person to use less of an active ingredient for an equal, and faster, effect.
What are the Benefits and Uses of KavaZen®?

How would you compare
KavaZen® with coffee
or alcohol? We find that the best drug comparison with KavaZen®, in general terms of beverage strength is coffee / caffeine. The effect itself is, of course, different. Kava is also very different from alcohol in that it does not hurt your body like alcohol can, and does not promote intoxication, aggressive behavior nor addiction. Instead, Kava promotes a sense of calm, coolness and focus. Is Kava addictive or build tolerance? No, Kava has been shown to be not addictive. No withdrawal symptoms have ever been associated with the cessation of Kava consumption. Kava is also considered free of tolerance buildup. Actually Kava is of great help to people trying to quit addictions in the way it soothes the nerves and appears to promote the growth of GABA receptors numbers in the brain. Is Kava contraindicated for use with prescription drugs or during pregnancy? If pregnant, nursing or taking prescription medications consult a good health practitioner before you start taking a new botanical such as Kava Kava. Can children consume KavaZen®? In regards to consumption by children, we see Kava as no different from coffee/caffeine. Traditionally, Pacific islanders will, on occasion, allow children to take Kava for medical purposes. Parents and health advisors should exercise their judgment and keep in mind that at least until age 10-12 the human brain is being formed. We believe that psychoactive substances such as Kava and caffeine should generally be avoided by children. Does Kava have side effects or cause injury to the liver? South Pacific islanders have consumed Kava root safely for thousands of years. The only known side effect is related to the consumption of extremely high amounts over a long period of time and consists of a dry skin condition, which disappears when consumption is reduced. This condition is known to develop in very heavy users (consuming the equivalent to, literally, hundreds of KavaZen® 10 fl. oz. bottles on a daily basis for several months). This condition has never been reported in western countries' consumers. As to the allegations in the 2000 and the 1980's scare of kava being "hard on the liver", they have been fully debunked. Such are alcohol-related paradigms that do not apply to the consumption of Kava root when properly manufactured. Click here for more on kava's safety history. Is there alcohol in KavaZen®? Alcohol is a natural by-product of the manufacturing process. The concentration of alcohol in KavaZen® is extremely low and well below the legal definition. The legal definition of "non-alcoholic" is a product containing less than 1/2 of 1% of alcohol, i.e., 5 parts per 1000. How does KavaZen® mix with alcoholic beverages? Modern scientific studies conducted in Germany reported that Kava does not interact with alcohol in the body. Some people find that a glass of wine or beer combines uniquely with the effects of KavaZen®. Others find that mixing Kava with alcohol gets in the way of enjoying the true experience of Kava and KavaZen®. What is Stress and Endemic Stress? Stress is the emotional and physical strain caused by our response to pressure from the outside world and to one's own negative thoughts. Common stress reactions include tension, anxiety, irritability, compulsive thinking, inability to concentrate or think clearly, and a variety of physical symptoms that may include difficulty breathing, headaches and a fast heartbeat. Endemic stress, acknowledges that the daily life experiences, including ongoing stressors from external sources, such as economic, political, social, and physical environmental conditions, have physiological(body) and psychological(mind) consequences that accumulate in detriment to health and quality of life. Endemic stress is defined as a heightened awareness of the occurrence of stressful life events that create conditions characterized as mundane sources of continuous and manifold changes in the everyday life experiences of some individuals. Organic food tastes great, and is better for us and the Earth. Well-balanced soils produce strong, healthy plants that become the best food can be, tasty and nourishing. Organic products meet stringent standards - ‘Organic’ is a labeling term that denotes products produced under the authority of the Organic Foods Production Act. The principal guidelines for organic production are to use materials and practices that enhance the ecological balance of natural systems and that integrate the parts of the farming system into an ecological whole. Organic production reduces health risks - Many EPA-approved pesticides were registered long before extensive research linked these chemicals to cancer and other diseases. Organic agriculture is one way to prevent any more of these chemicals from getting into the air, soil and water that sustain us. A National Cancer Institute study found that farmers exposed to herbicides had a six times greater risk than non-farmers of contacting cancer. Organic farmers work in harmony with nature - Organic agricultural respects the balance demanded of a healthy ecosystem: wildlife is encouraged by including forage crops in rotation and by retaining fence rows, wetlands, and other natural areas. Soil is the foundation of the food chain. The primary focus of organic farming is to use practices that build healthy soils. The elimination of polluting chemicals, done in combination with soil building, protects and conserves water resources. Organic farming saves Energy and combats Global Warming - Organic farming requires more people-power. Weeding by hand and using green manures and crop covers rather than synthetic fertilizers to build up soil are the foundations of Organic agriculture. Whereas, conventional farming uses more petroleum than any other single industry, consuming 12 percent of the country’s total energy supply. Did you know that most commercial fertilizers comes from petroleum? More energy is used to produce synthetic fertilizers than to till, cultivate, and harvest all the crops in the US. Data from The Rodale Institute’s® long-running comparison of organic and conventional cropping systems confirms that organic methods are far more effective at removing the greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide, from the atmosphere. Organic farming improves the soil unlike conventional farming which strips the soil of all nutritional substance. Click for more about Organic
Why do we package in
Glass?
Contrary to Plastic, Glass is inert and impervious to permeation of gases.
Better preserving the integrity of products. Plastic costs more in terms
of the amount of oil used in its chemical composition and manufacture. Plastic
is presently a serious problem for the marine environment. |
